City/Town Candidates: You must contact the appropriate City/Town Clerk’s office. Candidates for City/Town offices must file with the City/Town Clerk’s office, which may have different deadlines and procedures.

August 19 is the deadline to file arguments for local measures. Arguments must be filed during regular business hours, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
City/Town Measures: You must contact the appropriate City/Town Clerk’s office. Arguments/rebuttals for City/Town measures must be filed only with the City/Town Clerk’s office, which may have different deadlines and procedures.
Due to the law passed by the California legislators, every active registered voter will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. Find information here about voting by mail.
