450-acre McInnis Park in San Rafael offers many ways to play.

Rangers Recommend

  • Take a swing at the 9-hole golf course designed by Fred Bliss.
  • The golf center, run for Marin County Parks by a professional golf course operator, also offers a family friendly driving range and miniature golf.
  • Reserve a tennis or pickleball court online. 
  • Bring your scooter or skateboard to ride at the award-winning skatepark, created for all skill levels.
  • Launch a kayak or canoe into Gallinas Creek, an easy paddle to San Pablo Bay.
  • Anglers can try for freshwater catch at McInnis pond. Make sure you have a fishing license.
  • Walk the trail overlooking McInnis Marsh along the creek. Bring binoculars to spot the birds that flock to tidal flats.

  • You can make an online reservation for a pickleball court or a tennis court.
  • Learn about the proposal to add more pickleball courts to McInnis Park.
  • Softball and soccer fields are phone reservations only. Call (415) 473-6388.
  • A permit is required for private instruction, camps, classes, leagues, tournaments, or commercial use.
  • When hiking, stay on trail to avoid disturbing wildlife. The marsh is home to sensitive and endangered species.
  • If you are launching a kayak or canoe, watch weather and tides. Currents can be strong.
